Sprayed Interiors

Want to know what we can do for you?

Sprayed Interior Information

Our goal is to educate you on what to expect should you hire us to perform any inside work that involves the use of an airless sprayer.  We’ve been applying sprayed finishes indoors in occupied homes for years with no issues, and that’s not by accident.  In many cases, spraying will simply save you time, and thus money in labor expenses over brushing and rolling.  Other times, we may want to have trim, doors or other items you are having us paint sprayed for a superior quality of finish.

If we are going this route, we’ll make it clear upfront what your expectations are in terms of coordinating with us.  Each situation is different.  Some jobs may benefit from moving belongings to other rooms, or clumping items together in the center of some rooms, both things we explain before any work begins. The pictures below show what preparing to spray the paint might look like, so you know what to expect.

Typical wall prep and other steps we take before masking may include:
• cleaning soiled areas
• filling nail holes and dings, gouges, etc.
• repairing sheetrock cracks
• applying light re-texturing as needed
• sealing out problem stains (spot priming)
• removing outlet and switch plates
• removing blinds, interior doors and other items in the way

We co-ordinate with our clients to either have items removed from the areas to be painted or a combination of moving small items and “clumping” large items into the center of a room where they can safely be masked over with painter’s plastic and allow us to reach all the walls and ceilings.
If you are considering hiring us and we will be using a sprayer inside your home, know that we are here to coordinate and cooperate with you each step of the way in the planning and execution of this transformation!

The key to offering sprayed interior finishes is the proper masking of your house and belongings. Once masking begins, we like to get all the way to being “surgically masked off”, exposing only the surfaces to be painted.  Once masking is complete, the paint can fly. Spraying allows the applicator superior control over the thickness and uniformity of the coating being applied and gives the ability to keep a true wet edge the entire time paint is being applied.

If you have any questions about this process, we would be happy to answer them.
